Daniel Kuriloff MD, FACS


Daniel B. Kuriloff, M.D, FACS is a board certified Head and Neck Surgeon who received his medical training from The Mount Sinai School of Medicine. After completing two years of general surgery training at Albany and Beth Israel medical Centers, he pursued his Otolaryngology training at The New York Medical College Affiliated Hospitals and The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. He recently completed an approved Fellowship for Advanced Training in Head and Neck Cancer Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Microvascular Surgery at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Kuriloff's particular area of interest involves cancer surgery and advanced reconstructive techniques. He is a well-know contributor to medical journals and textbooks, and continues to be at the cutting edge of his specialty through his ongoing research and teaching activities. In 1990 he was honored as the recipient of the prestigious Investigator Development Award from The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and has received several grants to support his pioneering work. His present research activities include the development of an implantable prosthesis to restore voice following vocal cord paralysis, tissue transplant viability monitoring using special biosensors, and bone/cartilage induction molding for tracheal reconstruction and transplantation.

Dr. Kuriloff is Associate Director of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center and is an Associate Professor of Clinical Otolaryngology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is also an Assistant Attending on the Otolaryngology Service at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and Assistant Attending on the Otolaryngology Service at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center.

Dr. Kuriloff has special interest and expertise in thyroid and parathyroid disorders. He has perfected the rapid skinny needle diagnosis of thyroid tumors and other neck masses. He has recently written on this subject in a medical textbook on office based surgery.
