Gregory Tsai, MD, FACS
Dr. Gregory P. Tsai, MD, FACS is a board-certified otolaryngologist, a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Tsai specializes in adult and pediatric otolaryngology. He is also board certified in sleep medicine and has a special interest in scuba diving medicine. He has a particular interest in sleep medicine as well as scuba diving medicine. His undergraduate studies were done at Princeton University; his internship and residency were both completed at Mount Sinai Hospital, and he obtained his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. He joined the Head and Neck Surgical Group in 2008, after seven years in private practice in Great Neck, NY.
Dr. Tsai has pursued training in his specialties through attending a Clinical Polysomnography and Sleep Medicine course and DAN's Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine course. He has received honors through a First Place Resident Research Award from the Triologic Society and the Outstanding Basic Science Resident Research Award from Mount Sinai Hospital. His research and published articles include “Mapping of Brainstem Neuronal Circuitry Active during Swallowing” and “Effects of Pitch Identification Ability on Auditory Event Related Potentials.” He has received multiple positive reviews on www.zocdoc.com, showcasing his care from a patient’s point of view.
Dr. Tsai’s specialty in scuba diving medicine stems from being a passionate scuba diver. Along with being a member of the Medical State Society of New York, he is an usher captain at Redeemer Presbyterian Church and is a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Association. In his spare time, he enjoys salsa dancing and the Saturday/Sunday NY Times crossword puzzles. He also takes pleasure in medical missions, having served with MedMissions in Honduras in early 2008.
