This center is composed
of a group of Otolaryngologists, Speech Pathologists, Neurologists, Gastroenterologists,

or paralysis(see VOCOM; vocal tremors; spasmodic dysphonia;
Parkinsons Disease; and other neurologic disorders of the larynx. In
addition, vocal fold tumors, scars, nodules, and cysts are evaluated with
laryngoscopy, stroboscopy and vocal function testing and treated with many
modalities including microsurgery, laser surgery, voice therapy (including
the Silverman Technique for Parkinsons Disease). The care and management
of professional voice (singers, actors, public speakers) is provided through

Swallowing disorders,
particularly those in patients with stroke or other neurologic disorders are
evaluated and managed by a multidisciplinary team. Radiologic analysis, laryngeal
sensory testing, pH monitoring, manonmetry, endoscopic swallowing studies
can all be performed and evaluated. Many sophisticated techniques can then
be employed to enhance the swallowing ability of the patient. Appointments
for evaluation can be made by calling (212) 262-4444. Additional information
about specific programs can be obtained by calling the office, or frequenting
